Inscryption Items
Act I lets you carry three consumables; Kaycee’s Mod normally keeps that limit, reduced by Smaller Backpack. Act III tools recharge at waypoints. “Knife” can mean the Special Dagger or Skinning Knife. The mushroom-key search usually concerns the Mycologists’ Act II key, which opens their secret Act III encounter.

Consumables and rechargeable tools
The table separates cabin supplies from factory equipment because the same inventory rule does not apply to both. A cabin item is spent when used. Factory tools return after charging at a waypoint, so spending one in a difficult Botopia fight does not remove it from the campaign. Kaycee’s Mod keeps the cabin item system while removing the Special Dagger and Goobert bottle and adding four unlockable tools.
A full backpack matters at a supply node: additional item choices need an available slot. Think about the board before using scissors, a hook or a knife; queued enemy cards and certain special creatures are not eligible targets. The fan affects the creatures already present, so a creature played afterward does not inherit that turn’s effect. These distinctions are more useful than treating every bottle and tool as an interchangeable emergency button.

Key objects and ambiguous searches
Key objects advance a room puzzle or unlock an encounter; they are not ordinary consumables offered at a backpack node. The film roll is part of the Act I clock chain. The Mycologists’ key is obtained in Act II and used later, which explains why looking only at an Act III item shop does not resolve a “mushroom key” search.
The key’s documented sequence is four pairs of experiments in Act II, followed by the hidden Mycologists encounter near Eastern Botopia in Act III. The community alias does not need its own invented item name or a fabricated recipe. Pelts are cards used in trading and combat rather than tools on the consumable shelf; the linked pelt guide keeps their prices and combat behavior separate.
