The Archivist

The Archivist’s first phase is librarians. After you kill one, he asks for a file. The card’s damage follows the size: a byte is 0, a kilobyte is 1, a megabyte is 2, a gigabyte is 4, a terabyte is 8. Phase two asks for your oldest or dearest file and builds a captive file whose stats follow age: 1/1 under 360 days, 2/2 from 360 to 719 days, 3/3 from 720 to 1079 days.

Record

Boss strategy: file size sets damage (B=0, KB=1, MB=2, GB=4, TB=8); the Captive File does not delete the real file.

One of the four Act III Uberbots; reached through the Filthy Corpse World.

Reading

He does not delete that file. The game’s fiction says he will. Stack Exchange and the achievement text agree that what you actually get, if the card dies, is a text note beside the hostage file, in which P03 admits he cannot delete it and asks you to do it for the bit. On PC, Agonizing Remorse requires moving or deleting the selected original file, then winning the fight; deleting the generated note is not the condition. Consoles use the hammer on the captive file instead.

I am not going to show a real path or a real filename. The mechanic needs a size and a date, and it does not need your documents published on a guide. The longer version of the “does it delete files” question is its own page, and this boss page links to it so the two searches do not fork into two answers.
